With the world’s attention focused on BDSM this Valentine’s Day, thanks to the launch of 50 Shades of Grey, a sex toy brand is making a movie aimed to bring couples closer together, both physically and emotionally, by showing the value of perspective in relationships.

LELO, the world’s leading luxury sex toy brand is making a movie starring Casper Van Dien (Starship Troopers, Sleepy Hollow) and the new trailer, released today, comes with an interactive experience that physically brings couples closer together.

This is the first time a sex toy company has ever made a major movie and before your imagination runs away, it is not a porno. In fact the movie doesn’t even include any of LELO’s award winning pleasure products.

Instead the movie, entitled Beyond the Wave, is a creative intervention to show couples how important it is to physically be with each other and understand each other’s perspective, both inside and outside of the bedroom. The movie, also starring Emilie Ohana (Paris, Je t’aime) and newcomer Zhu Wei Ling, follows one man’s experience in a post-apocalyptic world where men and women choose to live apart. A chance meeting with the young Noria (Ling) sparks an unforgettable journey for Jacques (Van Dien), one that shows him the importance of understanding another’s perspective.

On the surface it’s a love story, but deeper than that, it’s a reminder on how to enrich relationships in an increasingly individualistic and divided world.

The trailer can be viewed at www.BeyondTheWaveMovie.com along with the PlayTogether™ experience(coming soon), that makes couples physically interact with each other to see the trailer from one another’s point of view.

The star of the movie, Casper Van Dien says, “When I read the script, the project spoke to me on a personal level. I think many people in 2015 can feel lonely and disconnected even when someone is right beside them. Beyond the Wave shows the importance of not only relying on yourself, of not just communicating or spending time with someone, but genuinely trying to understand your partner’s perspective. So many arguments could be avoided if we just paused for a moment and put ourselves in our partner’s shoes.”

“Life has taught us that love does not consist in gazing at each other but in looking outward together in the same direction.” —Antoine de Saint Exupery
